Terms of service

By creating a MangaMade account or using the service you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and any organisation you represent. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect.

You must be at least 16 years old and have a verified email address to sign in. Keep your credentials safe: anything done with your session counts as done by you.

Every account gets a personal workspace. Seats on paid plans may be shared with teammates you invite, and workspace administrators can see and manage everything inside their workspace, including credits, series, characters, chapters and exports.

One credit pays for one generated image at 1K resolution: a panel, or a regeneration of it. A 2K splash panel costs 2 credits, a character model sheet 2 and a style anchor 1. Planning a chapter, editing the script, lettering, composing pages and exporting are free.

Credits are reserved when a generation is submitted and spent when it completes; a generation that fails or is cancelled returns its reservation.

Plan credits are granted for each billing period and expire at the end of that period. Top-up credits expire 12 months after purchase. The free credits a new account receives expire 30 days after sign-up. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them, and cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the current period.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise. Credits already spent are not refundable, and we do not refund unused credits at the end of a period.

You keep every right you already have in the stories, scripts, character descriptions, reference images and other material you bring to MangaMade. You grant us the licence we need to store that material and run it through the planning, generation, lettering and export steps for your workspace.

You confirm that you may use what you upload, and that it does not copy characters, artwork or text that belong to someone else without their permission.

As between you and us, the pages, panels, lettering and exports you make with MangaMade belong to you, to the extent the law allows, and you may publish them, commercially included. We claim no ownership of them. We keep a licence only to render, store and serve them for you, for example to compose pages, show them in the editor and deliver exports and share links, and it ends when you delete them.

Copyright law has not settled everywhere how far images generated by an AI system are protected. Where the law requires a human author, a generated panel on its own may not be protected, or only narrowly, while your story, script, edits, page layout and lettering are more likely to be. We cannot promise that anyone holds an exclusive right in a generated image, and similar prompts can produce similar images for other users.

You are responsible for checking what you publish, including that it does not resemble characters or artwork that belong to someone else, and for following the rules of the platforms and publishers you submit it to.

The acceptable use and AI disclosure policy is part of these terms. We screen series, casts and chapter scripts automatically, may refuse a generation, and may suspend a workspace that keeps breaking that policy.

Do not attempt to reverse engineer the service, scrape it, resell raw model access, or use it to build a competing generation product.

MangaMade is a hosted service that depends on third-party image and language model providers. We work to keep it available but do not commit to an uptime figure on self-serve plans, and features may change as providers change their models and policies.

Beta features are labelled as such and may be withdrawn at any time.

You may stop using MangaMade and delete your account at any time from your settings; deleting an account deletes its personal workspace and the series, chapters and exports inside it.

We may suspend or close an account for non-payment, for a serious or repeated policy breach, or where we must do so by law. Where the situation allows it, we give notice first and let you export your chapters.

The service is provided as is. AI output can be wrong or unexpected: we do not promise that a generated panel will match your description, that a character will look identical in every panel, or that any platform or publisher will accept your work. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue or indirect damage.

Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you use MangaMade as a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the mandatory law of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings there.
